INTERNSHIP/volunteer OPPORTUNITIES

Distinctly Creative is looking for individuals to serve as interns for late-summer/fall + event volunteers! Below is info about both positions (plus being a volunteer), please fill-out the form below. You will be contacted within 48 hours.

EVENTS INTERN

Duties:

Logistical and promotional support for Distinctly Creative's various events. The intern will assist with general event planning, plus day of support. Tasks include:

  • Logistical planning, including communicating with vendor, volunteers, partners, artists & performers, and attending planning meetings + discussions.
  • Event implementation, including greeting attendees, answering questions, helping with set-up + clean-up, supporting vendors, partners, artists, and performers.
  • Assist with other general duties.

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18+
  • Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of and interest in culture/the arts + supporting/advocating for creative black-owned businesses/brands
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to creatively solve problems as they arise and work with loose supervision.
  • Must be able to interact with different types of people while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Preferences:

  • 21+
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite 
  • Basic Understanding of Photography + Videography

Time Commitment: 4-5 hrs/week. Predominately remote except for periodic meetings, and on the day of events. 

Compensation: Unpaid

MARKETING/SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN

Duties: 

  • Assist with content creation for Instagram, Facebook, and newsletter.
  • Assist with the development of creative social media/online campaigns.
  • Target potential media partners for events.
  • Monitor social media channels for trending news + ideas.
  • Live coverage via Instagram + Facebook during events. 

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18+
  • Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn quickly, and creatively solve problems.
  • Knowledge of an interest in culture/the arts + supporting/advocating for creative black-owned businesses/brands

Preferences:

  • 21+
  • Familiarity with Hootsuite and Gramblr
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Basic Understanding of Photography + Videography

Time Commitment: 4-5 hrs/week. Predominately remote except for periodic meetings, and on the day of events.

Compensation: Unpaid

EVENT VOLUNTEER

Duties:

  • Assist with set-up and breakdown, checking tickets, and other basic event duties.
